Kanwar Yatra to shut down, says Tourism minister, Shri G. Kishan Reddy.
The government of Uttrakhand has decided to cancel the Kanwar Yatra for this year (2021). G Kishan Reddy( Union tourism minister)made an urgent request to the population to consider the plight of the current situation.
The chief minister of Uttrakhand highlighted that the motive for Yatra is “Shraddha” (respect) and “Aastha” (Faith), and the divine would not like to see the people dying.
Kanwar Yatra 2021 TO SHUT SEEKING SITUATION
Kishan Reddy said, “Looking at the ongoing situation of Covid-19, both Amarnath Yatra and Kanwar Yatra has been called off”. He highlighted that it is our accountability to protect the nation from pestilence and reflect on the downgrading economy too.
He further added that the government is sparing no effort to bolt the 3rd wave that is round the corner. Prime minister Narendra Modi has also conveyed to the people that following the Covid-19 protocols is obligatory.
The tourism minister further appealed to the nation that they should only visit public places when necessary. The third wave can be escaped if we follow the basic guidelines and protocols that have been propagated by the government of India.
The tourism and pilgrimage can be put on halt for a while as the situation is alarming the approach of the 3rd wave.
